Four states to get new police headquarters soon, says Saifuddin


KUALA LUMPUR: Several new state and district police headquarters will be handed over to the police soon, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The Home Minister said the states to receive new headquarters are Penang, Perak,Kelantan and Pahang.

"This project also involves previous allocations, project extensions, as well as new allocations that were previously announced.

"We will also have new district police headquarters including Kapit and Padang Besar," he told reporters at the Police Training Centre here on Monday (March 25).

Saifuddin said last year, 151 General Operations Force posts from Perlis to Sabah were completed with a budget of RM45mil, in addition to successfully completing the offices and residences of Esscom (Eastern Sabah Security Command) members with a budget of RM40mil.

"Repairs and upgrades of staff quarters are also taking place all over the country with an allocation of RM500mil, which is shared with the Defence Ministry.

"The Home Ministry received an allocation of RM200mil of which the police received RM98mil. The upgrading process is still ongoing," he added.

Saifuddin also said they would make every effort to ensure that all projects involving the police force proceed according to plan and set a timeline.
